Celebrating Tawnee's Birthday with Her Top 34!

To celebrate my upcoming 34th birthday, I've compiled a list of my 34 favorite things in the shop! Basically if I were to go b-day shopping for myself at the store this is what I would get. You'll see a little bit of everything from gorgeous garment fabrics to silly stickers and the cutest little notions.

I had a lot of fun putting together this list of my favorites and I plan to keep it updated as more new items arrive! Buying for the shop is definitely one of my favorite parts of the job but it can also be the most challenging. I love supporting other small businesses by carrying their products and there are so many great ones out there! It's so hard to choose what to bring in when I want it allllllll.

I hope you enjoy this little round up of items, it's pretty much me in a blog post :) Keep an eye out for our upcoming birthday sale happening this Friday March 8th! Newsletter subscribers will be the first to know so make sure you're signed up!

First up, of course, is everything Daisy we have in the shop. Fun Fact: Daisies aren't actually my favorite flower, tulips are. Daisies were my mom's favorite flower and seeing them always reminds me of her. That's why I buy pretty much anything I see with Daisies on it!

You can’t beat our selection of stickers, pins, and patches. I get to support so many great other small businesses with these! Every pin, sticker, or patch we have is from another small business and a lot of them are local! Our sewing themed stickers are perfect for dressing up your sewing machine. The rotary cutter one was actually designed by my best friend Lindsey!

Making Quilt Kits is hands down one of my favorite things to do at work. The Quilt Mock Up tool that our former employee Remy made is an absolute GAME CHANGER when it comes to putting these together. It’s so user friendly and allows me to quickly play with fabrics until I get the perfect combos. Check it out if you haven’t yet and definitely buy Remy a coffee through their Ko-Fi link on the page if you use the tool!

I’m having a bit of an obsession with the warm red hot pink combos I’m seeing every where! I love this fun nebulous kit with the two colors of starry. I of course had to feature our Night Court kit from our ACTOAR courts quilt kit series. This is probably one of our most popular kits! I already have a sky cabin kit waiting for me at home so I haven’t taken one home… yet… The Omega pattern is one I highly recommend if you’re looking for a bit of a challenge! It tested me but I had so much fun making it!

I also included one of our DIY tote kits. These are my favorite for beginners or if you just need a little sewing “pallet cleanser” it’s the perfect quick project that is so satisfying to make!

It’s time for fabric! First up is garment fabric. I’m always a sucker for teal and I am loving the Sera Weighty Cotton blend we have, and the new Jubilee Cotton we just got in. Both are so soft and lovely! I definitely see some Donny Tops in my future!

I also pulled in the Black Silk Noil we have. I have some stashed at home ready to become a flowy skirt at some point. I of course couldn’t leave out the fun daisy print we have, the green color is so fun!

Lastly we have the Ruby Star Society toweling in the bright pink colorway. Why is toweling in the garment fabric? Because you can make the most adorable chore coat jacket with it! There’s a free tutorial on the RSS blog, or you can check out our Reels series on Instagram. I also included some sparkly elastic, my favorite garment labels, and my go to patterns. Friday Pattern Co is definitely a favorite for me and I love carrying their size inclusive patterns.

We have so many fun quilting cottons right now so it was really hard to choose favorites! I had to include these from Rise and Shine, they have the vintagey 70’s vibes that I love. That Chimera print is a big favorite and I need to remember to pull some for myself before it’s gone! The newest collection from Ruby Star Society, Meadow Star, is soooo freaking cute. I love love love the giant applique print! I’ve really been kicking myself for not getting the full collection of Water. Once I saw it in person I loved it so much more! It’s too perfect for us PNW folks.  I also included a ruler from Whipstitch Handmade because I firmly believe our sewing notions could all be a bit more fun! And of course a little birthday card!
