Ruby Star Society's Curio Inspiration
By Olivia Alaniz and Remy Nixon, February 28, 2023
The day has finally come - Curio is now available in the shop! Eeeek!
The colors and patterns in this Ruby Star Society collection by Melody Miller are just so good and are going to make for some really good projects! In case you haven't already grabbed yourself some of this collection yet, you can shop for Curio here.
I wanted to share some ideas for quilts that could be made using the Curio fabrics. We used the Quilt Mock-Up Tool - created by the fantastic Remy - to put together these mockups. If you don't know what the Quilt Mock-Up Tool is, let me give you a quick rundown: you can use a link to any fabric picture available online and plug it right into the quilts on the site to see what that pattern would look like if you used that fabric! This is a unique tool that lets you use printed fabrics in the mockups as well as solid fabrics. It's very cool and you should def check it out. If you use the site and like what you see, consider donating to Remy's Ko-fi to help support their efforts in making this for us all to use!!

Half-Square Triangles with a Charm Pack
This quilt pattern is a quick little make that uses a charm pack and some background fabric. Since this quilt is made up entirely of half square triangles (HSTs), you can arrange them in a myriad different ways depending on the look you're going for. Caroline put together a blog post with a bunch of different charm pack half-square triangle layout ideas!

This is very similar to the HST Charm Pack Quilt but these HSTs are a bit bigger! You can use the same techniques in the HST Charm Pack blog for laying out your layer cake HSTs!
To make this quilt that finishes at 54" x 63", you will need:
- Background: Ruby Star Society Speckled in White Gold - 3.25 yds

Wyld Whirl
Last but not least we have the Wyld Whirl Quilt! A link to a digital copy of this pattern is included with all of our Fat-Quarter bundles. This is a great first quilt and a fun make!
These 3 mockups were made using just the warm-tones, just the cool-tones and the full Curio collection respectively. They each finish at 42" x 56" and you'll need a minimum of 5 Fat-Quarters to make, but you can make it as big as you want with more FQ's.
These mockups are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to things that you all can create with the Curio collection from Ruby Star Society! If you end up recreating any of these quilts, we would love to see them! You can always share your makes with us on Instagram or send us over an email. We can't wait to see what you will create!
