How did you get into your craft or hobby?
My mom gave me a macrame book from the 70's that she dug out from her closet and said it looked like something I might want to try. The book is so ugly haha. But it had the basic macrame knots and once I figured those out I was able to start figuring out my own designs.
What has been the biggest obstacle you've had to overcome?
Two things; The first doing something unique. Until I found the wood shapes I use I didn't feel like I was doing something unique in the macrame world.  The second is time. I have a day job so its hard to figure out how to fit macrame in around everything else and also make it worth the while.

What has been your biggest achievement so far?
I love doing wholesaling! I'm baby stepping in, I have like 4 retailers and it's been really fun and rewarding to see my work out in the world.

Tell us something on your bucket list
I want to travel around Europe and also live in a converted vintage trailer.

What advice do you have for other female makers?
Keep going! Don't try to keep up with other people, you'll always be two steps behind them so do your own thing. Don't do what people you admire are doing, do your own thing and find your way to be unique.

What is the most frustrating thing about being a small business owner?
Taxes! The finance side of things is really challenging for me.

How do you "Treat yo self?'
I love a good mani/pedi especially because my hands get so dry from work with cord all the time. Sometimes I splurge on a spool of cord that isn't a color I would normally use, or maybe has sparkles.

Share an embarrassing moment
At Renegade Craft Fair a gal came up to me and hugged me and I had no idea who she was. She was asking if I still had the plant she gave me. I tried so hard to remember where I knew her from but I truly have no idea who she is.

Favorite show or podcast to binge while you work?
I love Mind Hunter and anything murder related.
If you could have any super power what would it be?
It's be nice to be really really fast at stuff. I'd love to spread joy, I feel like people need more joy.

If you could give your past self any advice, what would it be?
You be you boo

Any business goals for 2020?
Separate bank accounts for my business. I also really want a glow forge, it will cut and engrave anything. I think it would be really cool to engrave my logo on my pieces.
