My First Quilt



All experience levels are welcome at the "My First Quilt" workshop. This is perfect class if you've been wanting to learn how to quilt. We will cover ALL the steps in the process and at the end of the 6 weeks you will have a finished quilt!

The class will be held once per week for 6 weeks. We will be making the Wyld Whirl quilt. This is a fun scrappy pattern that is great for beginners. The pattern will be yours to keep once class is finished. We will supply the sewing machines and all needed tools and materials. Just show up ready to learn!

Week 1: Selecting fabric, cutting pieces, marking HSTs
Week 2: Piecing HST's, begin piecing blocks
Week 3: Finish piecing blocks
Week 4: Piecing top together and basting
Week 5: Machine quilting
Week 6: Binding and finishing quilt

Students will select their own fabric from our selection of fat quarters. Quilts finish at a small throw 44" X 58.5". Price of the class includes all needed materials.

 Students will be required to wear their mask for the entirety of class. Each student will have their own machine and set of tools to use. 

Please make sure you can attend all sessions before registering, there will be no make up sessions offered.

Cancellation Notice: Makers are kindly requested to provide a minimum of 72 hours' notice in the event of needing to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This advance notice allows us to accommodate other makers and make any necessary adjustments to our schedule.

Refunds: Any class cancellations made more than 72 hours in advance will receive either a full refund on a gift card, or a full refund minus a $5 card processing fee to the card used for registration. This fee accounts for the costs associated with the transaction and ensures a smooth and secure refund process.

Late Cancellations: Cancellations made less than 72 hours before and no shows will forfeit the registration fee.

Instructor Bio: Tawnee is the owner of Wyldwood and has been quilting for almost a decade! She loves sharing her knowledge with the community. She approaches quilt with a "you are the boss of your quilt" mentality. There are no "wrong" ways to do something, she is excited to help you find what works for you!
