Learn your Machine

Do you have a machine but haven't yet learned how to use it? We're here to connect you with community volunteers who want to help you learn! 

Attendees will bring their own working sewing machine along with any cords, accessories, and the owners manual (if you don't have a manual, please email us prior to registration).
 
At class you will be paired with a experienced sewist who will help you thread your machine, wind the bobbin, and go over basic use of your machine. We will practice stitches on scrap fabric, you will not be making anything in this class. Volunteers will do their best to help you get comfortable using your sewing machine. 

While we aim to pair you with a sewing expert, they are not trained to repair or troubleshoot machines. If your machine needs repair, we suggest visiting Sewing Machine Service co. of Renton.

Only one registration per sewing machine. You are welcome to bring another person with you but they do not need to register for their own spot.

• By registering for this class you agree to all terms. 

• This class is designed for adults 18+

• Masks are encouraged, but not required. 

• Cancellation Notice: Makers are kindly requested to provide a minimum of 72 hours' notice in the event of needing to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This advance notice allows us to accommodate other makers and make any necessary adjustments to our schedule.
  
  Refunds: Any class cancellations made more than 72 hours in advance will receive either a full refund on a gift card, or a full refund minus a $5 card processing fee to the card used for registration. This fee accounts for the costs associated with the transaction and ensures a smooth and secure refund process.
  
  Late Cancellations: Cancellations made less than 72 hours before and no shows will forfeit the registration fee.
