Weaving in the Round w/ CraftLab Seattle

Weaving is such a fun way to spend a few hours and can be done in so many different ways. In this class, we will work by weaving in the round using a round embroidery hoop as our loom. All the tools necessary will be provided to create an 8” round wall hanging. Each participant will have the same materials, but you will learn to design and create a one of a kind piece. You will learn:

  • How to do three basic weaving stitches
  • How to get your loom set up
  • Design techniques for different stitches and yarn thicknesses
  • Finishing it off to make and amazing piece of art to bring home with you

*All students will be required to wear a mask for the duration of class for the safety of our instructors.

*Cancellations must be made 72 hours in advance. Late cancellations and no shows will forfeit the class fee.

*This class is designed for students 12+.

Instructor: Laura Duris
Instructor Bio: Laura Duris is the creative crafter behind CraftLab Seattle who puts on crafting events around the Seattle area utilizing upcycled materials. She was an architect for 25 years before recently starting this new endeavor but has been crafting her whole life. Sharing her knowledge and expertise with as many people as possible is her passion and love. The love of creating is all that is necessary for her classes, everything else can be taught.
