Intro to Darning (Virtual)

Darning is a simple and essential mending technique that everyone would do well to have in their skill set. Thanks to fast fashion, it is a bit of a lost art, but those who practice it love it because it:
- extends the life of your belongings
- requires no special tools
- is a miniature and mobile fiber art (great for multitasking)
- is a versatile technique with lots of room for creative experimentation
- feels like a real life super power!

This 90 minute lesson will cover:

Darning tools and materials
Mending rules of thumb
Step by step demonstration and discussion of the three main darning styles:
Q & A (and, if you like, expert advice on specific items in your mending pile)

Bring a needle, some thread and your mending pile, and we’ll send you home with the skills you need to get started!

Class will be held via zoom on September 17th from 10am-11:30amPST. Class will be recorded and sent out after incase you miss it.
