This class will teach a natural dyeing technique called eco-bundling. It uses flowers, plants, and food waste to create abstract patterns and color on textiles. We will cover how to prepare your fabric for natural dyes along with the difference between protein and cellulose fibers. We will also explore different compositions and how to use modifiers to change the color. We will discuss different types of flowers and plants that can be used for natural dyeing so that you can continue practicing this technique at home.
We will supply the tools and materials you'll need. Just show up ready to learn!

Instructor Bio: | Zolo Dyes is a natural dyeing brand that uses earth's elements for color. Locally foraging flowers, plants, or food waste to capture nature's pigments on organic textiles. Individually crafted and hand-dyed - each item is unique and beautiful. While studying textiles and fashion design, Rose began to research how to create a more sustainable clothing line and it was at that time where she discovered her long lasting passion for natural dyeing. This art form is Rose?s way of connecting with nature and learning more about plants. Zolo?s mission is to create naturally dyed accessories in a way that respects the earth and our skins. |
