Botanical Dyeing Workshop

Join expert eco-dyer Rose Palazzolo of Zolo Dyes to learn how to use natural materials to dye your own cotton bandana!

This class will teach a natural dyeing technique called eco-bundling. It uses flowers, plants, and food waste to create abstract patterns and color on textiles. We will cover how to prepare your fabric for natural dyes along with the difference between protein and cellulose fibers. We will also explore different compositions and how to use modifiers to change the color. We will discuss different types of flowers and plants that can be used for natural dyeing so that you can continue practicing this technique at home.

We will supply the tools and materials you'll need. Just show up ready to learn!
