Beginner Garment Making - The Envelope Dress

Have you always wanted to make your own clothes but don’t know where to start? We have the class for you!

In our beginner garment making class we will walk you through the process of making your own Envelope dress! This pattern by Cris Wood Sews is size inclusive and leaves almost zero waste! We’ll go over reading patterns, how to finish seams without a serger, and a few tips for getting a great fit.

Every student will receive a printed copy of the pattern to keep. There is no experience required! Just show up ready to learn, we’ll supply the tools and materials. (up to $30)

If you would like to bring fabric from your stash you will need 1.5 yds for sizes up to 14. For larger sizes to determine your needed yardage take your hip measurement and add 13” this equals the total length of fabric that you need. Lightweight wovens light linen and cotton work best for this pattern.

After this class you’ll leave with a new dress and the confidence to dive into more complicated patterns!

We will supply the tools and materials you'll need. Just show up ready to learn!

We will be utilizing CDC recommendations for sanitizing stations. Students will be required to wear their mask for the entirety of class. Each student will have their own machine and set of tools to use.

*Cancellations must be made 72 hours in advance. Late cancellations and no shows will forfeit the class fee.
